Our Certificates of Authenticity

Tagsmart pioneered the use of transferable physical Certificates. Our Certificates are prized by collectors, and for good reason: a Certificate provides an enduring, archival ownership and provenance token that helps to maintain and enhance the resale value of their work.

Our Certificates are special. Linked to our digital provenance platform - which any registered Certificate holder can access free of charge - they also enable artwork record transfers (updating the work’s provenance record), replacement (for changing personalisation only) and revocation (if lost or stolen). Certificate issuers can also request custom data services to be linked to the QR code on the Certificate: current user examples include special artwork care and maintenance agreements, current exhibition promotions, and other data acquisition processes.

Respected by the industry, each Tagsmart Certificate is signed by the artist or by the authority who issued it. Every Certificate is backed by our fully managed service that looks after everything from production through to delivery management. On receipt, the collector can register the Certificate entirely free of charge and receive their own free online account with access to the artwork provenance record.

KEY FEATURES

Each Tagsmart Certificate is printed on high-quality 270gsm archival paper and can be branded with your identity and personalised for your customer at no extra cost.

Security

Our Certificates of Authenticity contain a host of security features, from encoded cut patterns to invisible proprietary markers. Lost or stolen Certificates can be remotely revoked and reissued.

Digital Services

Every Certificate of Authenticity provides a link to its associated services, ranging from access to the online provenance record (where published by the issuer) through to the ability to request an artwork transfer, Certificate reissue, or the addition of the work to a blockchain registry.

The Artwork

The core artwork information and image is supplied by the artist or a third-party specifically authorised by the artist to issue the Certificate on their behalf.

Signature

Every Certificate of Authenticity is signed by the artist or by the third-party specifically authorised by the artist to issue the Certificate. Where Certificates are signed remotely, our system applies randomly generated signature variations to each document.

Holographic Seal

The holographic-bordered seal is part of the Certificate verification system and must not be removed unless instructed to do so by Tagsmart. Removing the tape will void the Certificate.
