We are pleased to announce the appointment of Charlotte Bearn as Managing Director. Charlotte will lead our team for fully verified online art retailing, international expansion and the acceleration of partnerships with artists and art retailers.

Charlotte joins Tagsmart with a wealth of commercial and entrepreneurial experience. Most recently she was Commercial Director at BI Ventures, the venture-building arm of Cabinet Office-backed social purpose company The Behavioural Insights Team.

Previously Charlotte has held commercial and product development roles at tech startup Onefinestay, fast-growth FMCG Charlie Bighams and blue-chip Colgate-Palmolive. Charlotte is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and Chelsea College of Arts.

Charlotte will join us on 1st November.

Charlotte Bearn, Tagsmart Managing Director says:

“I'm delighted to be joining Tagsmart as we close in on our Seedrs funding. Today, only 8% of art sales are online, with buyer trust being a key barrier. Tagsmart is the right company to change this for the art community: our cutting-edge tagging technology and our new, verified online marketplace are just our first steps towards creating an art market that enables artists and buyers to trade art online, with trust. .”

Tom Toumazis MBE, Tagsmart Executive Chairman says:

“Co-Founder Steve Cooke and I carried out an extensive search to find someone with the right combination of commercial, entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Charlotte ticked all those boxes plus a lot more!  Her energy and enthusiasm for our company and our ambition to be a global leader in art authentication and online retailing made her the by far leading candidate. We are so thrilled to have her join us at such an exciting part of our growth. ”

We are crowdfunding and we would love to have you on board!

Join us on our journey and share in our success.

Tagsmart partners with Metro to become the first ever integrated and certification reseller

Tagsmart joins with Metro Imaging to launch the first ever integrated printing and authentication service. DNA tagging and certification of mounted and unmounted works will be conducted on site at Metro Imaging HQ, with the support of Tagsmart.

Professor Steve Macleod, Director Metro Imaging, says:

“We at Metro Imaging believe that Tagsmart have come up with a system that should be adopted across the creative industries. Their platform provides access to a non-invasive product that utilises the highest degree of technology; ease of use and safeguarded key-chains that allows an exceptional peace of mind for artists; collectors and curators. “

Steve Cooke, Tagsmart Co-Founder, and Chief Innovation Officer says:

“It’s a huge pleasure to partner with Metro Imaging as we have very important shared values. Photography and printing are highly exposed to forgery that is why it is important to build provenance. It is such an essential part of the work’s journey. Those are the things that really matter to us as a provenance and security company. Metro creates that physical embodiment of all the hard work that is put behind the artist and Tagsmart benefits from their provenance event meaning that we can track it on our platform. The two companies really get together perfectly.”
