On October the 10th we celebrated the International World Mental Health day as a team and we did some activities together.
We saw some art
A big thank you to all those who put on such a great show at Mind The Art...we were there (and you can go too, closes 22nd October). It is such a powerful exhibition with talented artists focusing on mental health and personal experiences. A must see exhibition!
We met some strangers...and it was great!
Before that we were outside the Tate Modern to find out just how much the public valued work to help them through tough times.
We asked people standing outside Tate what artist would make them de stress and feel peaceful. So many great artists - a huge thank you to everyone who shared with us a bit of art.
At Tagsmart the art of Hiroshi Sugimoto, Juan Fontanive, Hiba Schahbaz make us feeling at peace and truly alive.
Among many artists, Yayoi Kusama was just one of the high profile artists around the world also giving their support.
And what did you do on Mental Health Day? We’d love to hear your stories!
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Charlotte Bearn as Managing Director. Charlotte will lead our team for fully verified online art retailing, international expansion and the acceleration of partnerships with artists and art retailers.
Charlotte joins Tagsmart with a wealth of commercial and entrepreneurial experience. Most recently she was Commercial Director at BI Ventures, the venture-building arm of Cabinet Office-backed social purpose company The Behavioural Insights Team.
Previously Charlotte has held commercial and product development roles at tech startup Onefinestay, fast-growth FMCG Charlie Bighams and blue-chip Colgate-Palmolive. Charlotte is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and Chelsea College of Arts.
Charlotte will join us on 1st November.
Charlotte Bearn, Tagsmart Managing Director says:
“I'm delighted to be joining Tagsmart as we close in on our Seedrs funding. Today, only 8% of art sales are online, with buyer trust being a key barrier. Tagsmart is the right company to change this for the art community: our cutting-edge tagging technology and our new, verified online marketplace are just our first steps towards creating an art market that enables artists and buyers to trade art online, with trust. .”
Tom Toumazis MBE, Tagsmart Executive Chairman says:
“Co-Founder Steve Cooke and I carried out an extensive search to find someone with the right combination of commercial, entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Charlotte ticked all those boxes plus a lot more! Her energy and enthusiasm for our company and our ambition to be a global leader in art authentication and online retailing made her the by far leading candidate. We are so thrilled to have her join us at such an exciting part of our growth. ”
We are crowdfunding and we would love to have you on board!

According to the Hiscox Online Art Trade Reports 2016/2017, 58% of online collectors are afraid of buying a fake: 88% want standardised Certificates of Authenticity, and 79% want better provenance information.
Consequently, according to our advisor Philip Mould, “there is an increasing need to inject security and confidence into the art market."
Collectors are increasingly acquiring online, sight unseen. This sector is boosted by changing demographies and also by increasing propensity for artists and galleries to sell online. Repeated reserach has shown that online buyers increasingly see art as an investement/asset class and are deterred by trust issues.
We are currently working on a new service. The new online development will be the first platform to enable the trade of trusted art online through a revolutionary B2B artwork aggregation service. Artists will be able to submit trusted art, pre-tagged and with a Certificate of Authenticity, directly to online retailers. It will launch in September 2018 with the support of leading and emerging artists registered on the Tagsmart platform who will offer their works for sale.
Further announcement of retailer partners will be made in the coming weeks.
This is your chance to share in our success!

Sam has worked on several collections over the years and has solo showed in Berlin, Sydney, and London with several more shows planned into 2018. Recently he undertook a 6-month project focusing on the effects of Hydraulic Fracturing within the UK and gave an artist’s response in the form of 52 separate images, each titled with a place name where planned fracking was to take place. He has also completed a major installation for the Novotel, Canary Wharf, in London and an installation of three-dimensional metal ‘bullet casings’ entitled Into the Abyss which represents a response to global warming.
The shells used are made out of brass and in fact are recycled artillery shells, along to steel shells fabricated to look like silos. These were predominantly brass sculptures made using coffee and oils.
Sam’s upcoming exhibition: “OF THE LAND” solo show at Curious Duke Gallery on the 3rd of May 2018, where he will present his new collection of works which touch base with the coast, the woods, ancient pathways, hills, trees and all the natural elements.

Roy Tyson is an award-winning urban artist combining miniature figures, photography and the streets to create a miniature world beneath our feet.
Roy took inspiration from the current urban art scene and headed to the dirty streets of London to photograph and capture his work permanently.
He’s fascinated by the multitude of aspects the subjects can achieve, setting about creating situations in a miniature world that reflect on our surroundings, feelings and emotions.
Each figure is carefully adapted from its original form, allowing Roy to create anything he desires. The little people are then taken to the street to get the perfect vibe for us all to enjoy.
Roy is also the founder of Roy’s People Art Fair with Sam Peacock. Over the last 5 years, Roy and Sam have been working as professional artists. During that time they have exhibited nationally and internationally whilst experiencing art fairs and going through the emotions of applying and exhibiting and Roy decided that the next logical step would be to create the Roy’s People Art Fair. He has joined forces with Sam to add more artistic experience and knowledge to make the shows as successful as possible.
Roy and Sam state that the aim of the fair is to give artists an alternative platform to present their work whilst also creating a unique art fair experience for visitors allowing them to interact with the artists and buy artwork directly from them. At each of their fairs, people will discover original affordable artwork from a wide variety of artists carefully selected based on quality and talent.
