Andrew Salgado, our artist of the week

Andrew Salgado confronts concepts of identity face-on in his spectacular, large-scale works. The London-based Canadian artist is playful with media, effectively producing emotive, engaging images. We’re proud to have Andrew as part of the Tagsmart community!

"I am interested in how my paintings operate independently from their literal figurative foundation, and how they might deconstruct through colour choices, reduction of forms, andtriumph of materiality to become something altogether otherworldly."

In 2017, Salgado was the youngest artist to ever receive a survey-exhibition at The Canadian High Commission in London, accompanied by a 300-page monograph, both of which were entitled TEN.
The exhibit explored the last ten years of Salgado’s work by giving the opportunity to explore the artist’s creative progression through his vibrant career.

Andrew is represented by Beers London.
